National Convention – 2018

This past weekend, our brothers attended the National Convention that was held in Lexington, KY. Brothers from all different chapters came together in one place to discuss problems within their chapters, and looked to seek for solutions from others. During the Ordo Honoris banquet, our chapter was awarded with the John V. Dempsey – Best Chapter Website award and on the final day we were given a Regional Award for Best Faculty Relations. Also during the banquet, Jean C. Lopez, an alumni of Kappa Beta, was inducted into the Ordo Honoris! This is a remarkable accomplishment, and we would like to congratulate him on all his contributions he has made to help better our chapter and the fraternity as a whole.

The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation honors the life of Andrew McDonough. Andrew battled leukemia, septic shock and complications of childhood cancer for 167 days before passing away on July 14, 2007, at the age of 14. Andrew’s B+ blood type became his family’s and friends’ motto throughout his fight against childhood cancer — to “Be Positive”.

The B+ Foundation is about Kids Helping Kids Fight Cancer — raising money through dance marathons, 5Ks, T-shirt sales and more, to provide financial and emotional support to families of children with cancer nationwide. The B+ Foundation also funds critical, cutting-edge childhood cancer research.
